Sentence Train

English Ages 6–10

Sentence Train teaches word order and simple grammar. Each sentence is broken into word carriages, and children tap them in the right order to couple the train together. Clues like the capital letter at the start and the full stop or question mark at the end help them find the beginning and the end.

How to play

  1. Read all the word carriages.
  2. Find the word with a capital letter. That usually starts the sentence.
  3. Tap the words in order to fill the train.
  4. The word with the full stop, question mark or exclamation mark comes last.

  • Questions often start with words like What, Where, Who or Can.
  • Read the finished sentence aloud. If it sounds right, it probably is.
